Who’s got guns?

WE’VE GOT GUNS.

Candy-colored, semi-nonfunctional-but-somehow-they’ll-still-work GUNS!

(Translation:  Have some more concept art from Emerald Kingdom.  It’s magically delicious!)

I made these a while ago, but they’re new to the interwebs.  When I made the swords, I tried to keep things at least somewhat stylistically similar.

There’s no way in hell that these guns are probable (Hell, they fire beams instead of slugs) but that’s kind of what I wanted to go for.

We’ve got so many games out there that strive for the utmost realistic detail with their weapon designs, and I wanted to deviate from that.  I’m a huge fan of the Ratchet & Clank series, and all of the weapons you get in those games are unique, colorful and fun.  So I wanted to run with that on a less outlandish scale.

I don’t know that I was terribly successful, but these are only the first of what will be many designs, I’m sure.

Our art director’s been streaming most of the day, working on a set of prints which we’ll offer for sale.  Here’s a progress shot of the first one.

If you want to see some of what went into this, check out the archived videos on our Livestream channel.

Enjoy!

Spent the majority of my stream today working on this monster.  As it states, this is the first of three.  Still not done.

One of my favorite characters! XD

Verbatim, from deviantART:

The composition here is shitty with a purpose.  All of the elements were created separately so they could be implemented in Double Cluepon’s devblog.  It’s kinda difficult to compose something well when the characters have to basically act as bookends.  One of these days I’d like to do an actual poster with some of our characters, but game assets come first.

Marcia Proba (left) and Sheyala are a couple of NPCs out of Emerald Kingdom.  If you haven’t heard me gush about it yet, please, take a stroll by the VShift website to learn more.

Medium: SAI, Photoshop CS5
Finished: June 2, 2012

Emerald Kingdom, Sheyala and Marcia Proba are ©Double Cluepon Studios, inc.  Takers get a rocket-mounted hammer to the knuckles.

So… someone is cosplaying a character that I’m writing…

That’s new.
